Why?

Bilbo, lost in the dark caverns of the Misty Mountains, discovers a mysterious ring and meets the strange creature Gollum by an underground lake. They play a tense game of riddles that ends with Bilbo’s narrow escape using the ring’s strange, magical power.

We're pleased and delighted to have connected with the official Rankin/Bass archivist Rick Goldschmidt of Miser Bros Press to help us bring this wonderful art to life:

"When Arthur Rankin, Jr. put the Rankin/Bass Archives in my care in the early 1990s, I always thought this image would lend itself nicely to 3-D, to bring out the Trademark Rankin/Bass Animagic style and it never looked better than it does here!" - www.miserbros.com

This collectible LED backlit shadowbox art piece measures 12" x 15 1/2" x 2 1/2" and comes ready to hang with an official Rankin/Bass Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

Each LED backlit Shadowbox is specially printed to look fantastic in any lighting condition from a bright space to mood-lit game room and is accented with our dimensional layer interplay for an immersive 3D effect.

Included with each Shadowbox is a UL certified plug-in wall adapter with a 4' cord to power the built-in Shadowbox lighting system.

Each piece is printed on 1/8” thick optical-grade acrylic with vibrant UV cured inks and set in a high quality finished MDF wood frame, our shadowbox art pieces are handcrafted in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
